Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to bring my own food/treats?

Yes. Bring enough of your pet's daily food to last throughout the stay.  We provide the bowls for both food and water to ensure consistent cleanliness. We provide bedtime treats but if your pet has any favorites, please pack those as well.

Does my pet need to be up to date on vaccinations?

Yes. We are licensed through the Department of Agriculture and all guests are required to be up to date on rabies, bordetella, and distemper ( DHPP, DA2PP, and DHLPP).

Does my pet have to be spayed or neutered?

No. We do not require spay or neuter.

Do you administer medications?

Yes. All medications must be written out so that we can be certain to give your pet exactly what is prescribed. We can administer everything from pills to injections.

Does my dog get to interact with other guests at the resort?

No. We do not allow our guests to co-mingle. Siblings from the same household can be placed in a run together if you would like and will be allowed to play together (if they are friends) in our indoor and outdoor areas.

How will I know if my dog is doing okay during the stay?

We understand that a stay can oftentimes give owners some anxiety. We welcome your texts or calls to check-in. We will text you photos as well as notify you if anything out of the ordinary occurs.

My dog is an escape artist. How will you keep him secure?

Our kennel is comprised of 2 layers of floor to ceiling fencing and all of the floors are concrete. So guests can't dig out and escape through the fencing is all but impossible.

What happens if there is an emergency during my pets stay?

We handle each situation differently. If your pet becomes ill and does not require emergent care, we will contact you first and if we are unable to contact you we will contact the person you elect as an emergency contact. If urgent care is needed, we will do everything possible to ensure medical treatment is administered. Our emergency veterinarian is Dr. Joe Abrassart, owner of Kankakee Animal Hospital.
